Why my blog is called what it is

The Art of Losing Control. Why would I pick that title?
If you want to read the long version that's kinda... dense, than read my very, very first post. HOWEVER, if you'd like the condensed version, simply read the following.
Self-control is actually a fruit of the Spirit, so we don't want to lose that! What I mean is losing control to God. Surrender. That's what I'm talking about. Sweet, freeing and wonderful surrender. Giving up everything to God. Have you ever done this? You need to. Now. I have.... many times! I've discovered that surrender is a daily thing. Can I challenge you? When you wake up tomorrow morning, let the first words out of your mouth be "Good morning God, I surrender this day to you." But don't say it unless you mean it.
Ok, so that's my explanation of my blog title, but I'm gonna keep rambling because I have just fueled my train of thought. If all you wanted was the above explanation, feel no need to read on.
It's funny, this surrender. You know why? Because we're really just giving back to God what he already has! God controls our lives, circumstances, and everything else, surrender is simply accepting that. When we choose not to surrender, not to accept that He's got it under control, it doesn't change anything for Him. He can still go about His business (of course He still cares, but that's another story), but you will be miserable. That's a promise. When we choose not to surrender, we are simply trying to swim against a riptide. It's useless, and we need to give it up, but our human pride gets in our way. It fogs up our eyes, making everything distorted so that we think we're bigger than we are. God's word is like glasses, we can only see things correctly and in the right perspective when we wear them.

DeleteHi Annie! I look forward to reading your blog, you sound fun. And Leah is going to laugh at this, but I'm asking every writer, have you heard of NaNoWriMo? I saw your email address so I emailed you an invitation to Camp NaNoWriMo this June. It's a bunch of fun and I did it last November. Anywho, let me know! Have a good one.
